I wonder how much was still left in the car. I love it when they come home, but sometimes I wish we could just rent a storage unit and drop their stuff off. The thing that amazes me is how much more stuff they somehow accumulate while they are gone. Where do they get it all. Wish I were there to help.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7207449.post-1147652067339235552006-05-14T19:14:00.000-05:002006-05-14T19:14:00.000-05:00My son is a junior in high school and you are scar...My son is a junior in high school and you are scaring me. You sign up for each semester and the fairies come and pick up your laundry, do it, bring it back to your dorm room all folded, and all you have to do is "put it away". They also offer cleaning services to keep the dorm rooms shipshape.

Quite different than when I was in college, where I did my own laundry and cleaned my room occasionally all by myself.

We've got a family friend coming to Boston next year for college and I've already told him our laundry is open for business. he can come once a week, get a home cooked meal, and do his wash. Every kid needs a stopping off place like this, huh?

Here via Michelemargalithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09782326504951603071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7207449.post-1147577779386129582006-05-13T22:36:00.000-05:002006-05-13T22:36:00.000-05:00*giggles** 4 of us left for college at about the s...*giggles** 4 of us left for college at about the same time ; I remember my mom's frightened expression when we would all come back for the holidays...

Michele sent me !Just a trumpet playerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01392398536254080285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7207449.post-1147459806567251832006-05-12T13:50:00.000-05:002006-05-12T13:50:00.000-05:00Here from Michele.I bought the girl home from coll...Here from Michele.
I bought the girl home from college yesterday. My plan... go and get the bicycle and the rug that won't fit in her car and leisurely have lunch at Olive Garden.

The reality... where did all this come from? We really brought all this last fall? Oh, yeah. I forgot about the refrigerator, microwave, dehumidifier, book case, printer and all those things. Where did all these steps come from? Where is the elevator? Oh, there never was one. Why didn't I take the back seats out of the van? How many more trips up do I have to make? Is it all going to fit? Where are we going to put it when we get back to the house? You are NOT thinking of taking all this back up here for a summer session in 19 days?

The result: We now have major revamping to do, loads of laundry, fights over minimalizing the summer stuff, one major headache and calf muscles that go into spasm when they just see a step.

It is good to know others feel the pain. You would not believe how many parents I saw yesterday "having words" with each other and their kids. Ah, the joys of collegehood.srphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11751987787364198318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7207449.post-1147262072371054822006-05-10T06:54:00.000-05:002006-05-10T06:54:00.000-05:00Yep, laundry and children return home just like th...Yep, laundry and children return home just like the robins in spring!

Here from Michele, hello!Leslie Shelorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04628795421403196341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7207449.post-1147194122283001582006-05-09T12:02:00.000-05:002006-05-09T12:02:00.000-05:00My mom still asks my brother to bring his laundry ...My mom still asks my brother to bring his laundry home so she can wash & fold it all.
